Product Description

The 5 oz Breastflow bottle is ideal for newborns and young infants and includes a Stage 1, slow flow nipple. Breastflow is the only feeding system that requires both suction and compression, just like breast feeding. The nipple is designed to mimic the breast so baby can latch on and to encourage the same mouth and tongue position as breast feeding. The double nipple system requires both suction and compression, just like breast feeding and baby controls the flow of milk. It's the bottle most like breastfeeding.

The only one that comes closest to mimicking the breast5
I breastfeed 90% of the time, only once in a while does my baby (almost 3 months old now) get a bottle - either pumped milk or formula. I really wanted to find a nipple that would come closest to how the breast is shaped and how the baby sucks at the breast. At first I was using the Avent bottles/nipples that came with the breast pump (the pump - though manual - is great) but I was very unhappy with the way the nipple was shaped - most unlike a woman's breasts! And, the milk flowed very quickly, my baby drained the bottle too soon and that didn't seem right. And sometimes my baby would do a clicking sound when nursing from that bottle, and then she started doing the same at my breast, which would break the latch.
So then I bought Breastflow, and yes, it truly is like the breast - the baby does have to latch on (almost). And once latched on, the nipple's wide part gets squashed just a little, exactly in the way I have observed my breast to do when my baby is suckling with gusto. Baby's mouth remains open in the exact same way as when she has a really good latch on my breast. And the flow is also good - not too fast, not too slow. No problems with the clicking sound either. For the initial few seconds, baby has to work a little harder to get the milk from the inner nipple to the outer one, and I think that's what happens at the breast as well - initially the baby sucks a little harder to get the milk to flow.
We have been using it for two months now and I am very happy with the product. I would recommend it to everyone, especially those who mostly breastfeed!

Super product!!! You should try it!!5
My baby didn't breast feed well from the beginning. Saw this bottle and thought I'd try it. She was already at least a month or so old. Loved it!!! I was using an Avent bottle (which are great unless you are encouraging breast feeding). When I switched to this one I could tell a BIG difference. It actually sounded like she was breast feeding instead of gulping!! She had to work instead of getting lazy in her eating. I can't really say it improved my baby's nursing capabilites. I still had to use a nipple shield, but I'm positive it was tons better than a regular bottle. I felt it was worth every penny!!

Saved my spouse's sanity5
My baby is an avid breastfeeder and it was a real struggle for my partner to bottle-feed her, even if she was drinking breastmilk. We've tried the Adiri brand as well as the more traditional bottle nipple shapes, and each feeding took an hour of tears (for both baby and parent). I am returning to work soon and my husband was worried that every day would be an exercise in frustration for the both of them when bottle-feeding. When we got this bottle and she fed contentedly for the first time, we parents burst into tears of gratitude. Our baby may emit a token protest when she first feels the bottle's nipple and realizes it's not Mama, but afterwards she can control the flow, even dozing as she suckles. I wish we had tried this brand from the very beginning.

The only annoying thing is that the measurements on the side of the bottle are way wrong. We've tried writing the correct increments with permanent marker, but resort to pouring the remaining milk/formula into another receptable to measure how much she has swallowed.
